The Serenity Prayer can be found in either the common shortened form or the more extended, full version with portions of language altered. Over the years, different versions of the prayer have been published. Wygal placed the prayer in newspaper articles as early as the 1930s and then, in an altered form, in a book of worship in 1940. Reinhold Niebuhr is universally attributed as the author of what we know as “ The Serenity Prayer.” Its promotion was likely from a diary excerpt from Niebuhr’s student and collaborator, Winnifred Crane Wygal. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.Dr. Now my name is written in the book of life, guaranteed by the following written law: Your Holy Blood cleanses me right now and God the Father gives me a new heart and eternal life. Jesus, I receive you as my Lord and Savior. I believe Jesus was raised on the third day for my justification. Lord I am sorry for all my sins and bad choices, please forgive me. Lord, I do believe that Jesus of Nazareth took my place in the Cross. This is how you open your heart to receive the lord! Walking over serpents and scorpions? That will be natural for a Christian who stands firm in Christ! Or to your dead dreams: Be resurrected once more! Or to your tormenting fears: I paralyze you in Jesus’ name! Or you can say to turbulent oceans: Be calm! Or to the oppressing wind: Be quiet! Thoughts, feelings, emotions, depression, sickness and disease: Be paralyzed! Be dissolved! Be removed! And stand your ground.stand in your peace. ![]() It comes full of something better than serenity and tranquility it comes full of Peace! Supernatural Peace! With this new kind of peace, you can speak up against the turmoil of this age: We need Jesus’ resurrected nature in our hearts. We all need this if we want to download tranquility and serenity. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. No one can receive peace, tranquility, and serenity without first accepting by faith a new heart. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-18 For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. Why? because Jesus also said:ġ6 “who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.ġ7 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. It cannot be contained in a sin-filled heart or Adam’s nature. So, don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. Perhaps superficially, but nothing steady, nothing to thrive on, to grown on!įake it till you make it? Some have faked it all their lives, but time is running out and they know it! No matter where we go or what we do, tranquility and serenity isn’t there to be found. But knowing when they come back, they will need vacation from their vacation. Calmness, calm, composure, tranquility, peacefulness, peace of mind, peace, peaceableness, collectedness, poise, aplomb, self-possession, sangfroid …įor some famous people finding tranquility and serenity may mean to find a place where they can hide, bring lots of buzz and pills to sleep. SERENITY: the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled. TRANQUILITY: state of being tranquil calm, peace, peacefulness, restfulness, repose, reposefulness, calm, calmness, quiet, quietness, quietude, silence, hush, noiselessness, stillness, serenity… But, for anyone lacking here is how we sow and reap tranquility, serenity, peace, etc. We all should have plenty!
